Project Title:
GreenWheel Food Hub’s Kupuna-Style Community Farm Stand Project
Hi we’re GreenWheel Food Hub, a fiscally-sponsored project of Feed the Hunger Foundation. Our mission is to help bring greater access to locally grown food in Hawaii, especially to those communities facing financial hardships.
In 2013, we brought EBT SNAP benefit acceptance into Honolulu Farmers Market, helped to launch a new EBT centered micro farmers markets with Kokua Kalihi Valley called The Crop Shop at Kuhio Park in Kalihi. We’re also helping to develop a farmer collaborative farm stand at Waimanalo Health Center with GoFarm Hawaii.
At the moment we are especially excited about a new project underway that has us custom designing a collaborative model that brings fresh, locally-grown fruits and veggies to an affordable living senior village on Oahu. Have a look here and if you like what you see, please vote for it! Mahalo!
