We are investing $25,000 in nonprofit organizations doing meaningful work in local communities of Hawai’i. Your organization could be a winner! We are ready to give $2,500 to two nonprofits in each of the following categories: 1. Caring for our Kupuna, 2. Educating our Keiki, 3. Empowering our Communities, 4. Protecting our ‘Aina and 5. Preserving our Culture. To learn more about our mission and the areas we want to give to click here.

Background:

Are you a small to mid-size nonprofit? Could $2,500 make a difference in the work you do? Would you like to showcase your work?

If you are a registered nonprofit in the state of Hawai’i, submit a short video clip outlining the work you do and why you feel you deserve a $2,500 donation. All videos will be posted on our website. The contest deadline is: December 27th, 2013.

Once all submissions are received we will ask the public to weigh in and vote for their favorite video and idea online. This contest is open to neighbor island nonprofits as well as those located on O’ahu.

Entering the competition is easy: Share the following in a 3 minute video clip: The mission or purpose of your organization and how a $2500 cash grant help your nonprofit organization? What would you choose to accomplish with the award?

Be as creative as you can. Videos do not need to be professionally done, but should be submitted as MPEG or MOV files.  If you choose to interview beneficiaries or staff of your program please get their permission and consent to appear on our website http://www.anandafundhawaii.org.

***If your nonprofit wants to enter our video competition and does not have access to a recording device, ‘Olelo Community Media may be able to help you. If you know someone who has a certificate and has been trained by ‘Olelo, you may be able to go to one of their media center locations and record your video. If  you need help filming you may want to ask if there is an ‘Olelo Community Volunteer who would be willing to help you record your 3 minute video.
